Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Fettle app and the fettle.tools service, operated by Stewart Burton ("we"). By creating an account or using the app you accept them.

The service

Fettle is a personal tool-inventory service: cataloguing, photo identification, battery-platform reference information, job-kit matching, loan tracking, maintenance logs, and inventory export. We may change, add, or retire features.

Your account

You are responsible for your login credentials and for the accuracy of what you store. You must be at least 13 years old. One account per person; do not share accounts or use the service to store unlawful content.

Fettle Pro subscription

Fettle Pro is an annual auto-renewing subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Pricing is shown in the store before you buy and may vary by region. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel in your store account settings at least 24 hours before the renewal date; the stores handle billing, cancellation, and refunds under their own terms. Free-tier limits (such as the number of tools and monthly photo identifications) are enforced server-side and may be adjusted; we will not reduce what an active paid subscription already includes during its term.

Battery compatibility information - important disclaimer

Battery and charger compatibility data in Fettle is compiled from manufacturers' published information and provided for reference only. It may contain errors or become outdated. ALWAYS verify compatibility with the manufacturer before use. We do not endorse cross-brand battery adapters. Batteries and chargers can cause fire or injury when mismatched - you use this information at your own risk, and we accept no liability for damage arising from reliance on it.

Your content

Your inventory data and photos remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to store, process, and display them back to you (including sending identification photos to our AI provider, as described in the privacy policy). We claim no other rights over your content.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to breach, overload, or reverse the service's security or rate limits; do not use the service to infringe others' rights; do not resell access.

Termination

You can delete your account any time from Settings in the app (which deletes your data, per the privacy policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with export access where lawful and practical.

Liability

Fettle is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim warranties and limit our total liability to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without affecting any consumer rights you hold under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
